Beschreibung
(Royal Navy) BOND, James, Commander. Corgi Aston Martin DB5 . This is the Corgi 261, the 1965 first issue of many of the famous Goldfinger motorcar, driven by the Royal Navy's most famous 20th-century officer. Gold-coloured die-cast model in its original box. In 1965, I (JWD) received one for Christmas from my parents. However, a few years later I was foolish enough to swap it for a mouldering deer's foot. They are now rather scarce, especially in boxes. There is a slim local connection to all of this as the Halifax-born actor, Austin Willis, played Simmons, the beach-side cardplayer who, near the film's beginning, is being cheated by Goldfinger and his binoculated lovely, Jill Masterson. It seem that Willis was originally to have had the larger role of Felix Leiter, the CIA agent. With working roof-flap and ejector seat (and bad guy ("bandit") ordnance), rear bullet screen, retractable machine guns. With outer box (edge-wear, one flap taped on, some partial tears to creases) and inner display box (with original secret instructions [lacking mail-in portion] and a very worn instructions envelope). Lacks iron-on 007 ID. Scarce. 450.00. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 38528
