15 by 9.5 cms. viii+326 pp. frontispiece tissue guarded portrait of Talleyrand, similar portraits of Murat and Soult, geneological folding table of the Buonaparte family. Half leather and marbled boards, five panelled spine with decorative gilt panels and two original spine labels. marbled endpapers. Edge rubbing to boards, corners bumped, showing some wear, loss of leather at top left corner of the spine, the top quarter inch of the title page removed, internally very tight and clean, plates in good condition. This series was begun by the publisher in the 1820s and survived to the late 1840s. They make a handsome display on a shelf. This title has been reproduced recently with Bounaparte respelt as Bonaparte. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 14296
