Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Ellen Reid Smith has been in awe of cowgirls most of her life. As one of the youngest female executives at American Airlines and IBM, she had few female mentors, so she modeled herself after the strongest women she knew--cowgirls who settled the Wild West. She believes that a cowgirl is wherever you find her—proving that you can take the cowgirl out of the Wild West, but you can’t take the Wild West out of the cowgirl. She lives in Austin, Texas, where she and her pardner Josef ride side-by-side each week.

Ellen is also the author of The Cowgirl Smarts Coloring Book that teaches The Cowgirl Creed to little buckaroos. Her third book in the series, Cowgirl Smarts: How to Kick-Ass in Business, will be published in early 2005. A travel guide for finding your cowgirl spirit will come out in Spring/Summer 2005.

Ellen travels the United States giving motivational presentations to women and teens about how to rope more out of life by adopting cowgirl smarts.
