In the middle of the book there are 20 pages of b/w photographs both of military personnel/equipment etc and Korean towns, villages and civilians. One of the latter, the circumstances of which the author explains in the text (pp. 169), is particularly haunting and replicated on the front of the dust jacket. The latter is slightly faded and scuffed in places but intact. Similarly, the black cloth boards have a small amount of rubbing/fading. Gilt titles along the spine. Edges (top and fore) have minor spotting. The binding remains tight.
