Author's first book. First printing of the second edition. The binding is dark blue cloth with gilt stamping on spine. Textblock is tight and square. No markings. The dust jacket is similar to first edition, 2nd issue but indicates that Steinbeck is the author of Of Mice and Men and there is no mention of Covici Friede on spine. Topstain still dark blue and fresh. Jacket has minor edgewear at head of spine but is still bright and fresh. Rarely seen in this condition, a very attractive copy of a book that is not easily seen. Insurance is available upon request. Books with jackets are all wrapped in mylar to protect the jacket and carefully packaged. I use bubble wrap, packing peanuts and newspaper filler to supplement. They are then boxed.
