Beschreibung

First edition. Rear cover lightly soiled else near fine, bright, square copy in dust jacket with light restoration to the spine ends and corners. Franklin Russell, school master sleuth, heard the bells of the tower on the estate of Luke Clavenger ring out an old hymn. Andrew Clavenger, Luke's son, was the campanologist and an expert, but strangely in the middle of the hymn he stopped. Then in a moment the hymn resumed and was played through to the end. The last echoes had scarcely subsided when the news came to Russell that the body of Andrew Clavenger lay in the bell tower with its skull crushed in. His cousin, with whom he had quarreled over a girl, was found bending over Andrew's body and his presence in the bell tower could not be explained. Buchnummer des Verkäufers 37519
