In the aftermath of Doctor Strange’s war with his own grizzled counterpart, General Strange, Stephen and Clea must set things to rights. But what about Clea’s new little sister? Will they really return her to her warlord parents? And can the Stranges reckon with the legacy of the Faltine? Plus: Stephen is a very busy man — sometimes, it seems like the busiest man. But that man has a best friend. So when there’s something strange haunting the Sanctum Sanctorum, who can we turn to? Why, Bats the Ghost Dog, of course! But can Bats solve the mystery on his own, or is this good dog in way over his head? And, when a sentient role-playing game transforms New York City into a fantasy world, Doctor Strange must gather a new team of Secret Defenders!

Canadian writer Jed MacKay has built an extensive list of credits at Marvel — including such titles as Edge of Spider-Geddon, Infinity Wars: Ghost Panther, Daughters of the Dragon and Man Without Fear. His career caught fire in 2019 with Black Cat, a character-defining phenomenon. MacKay has built on that success with his highly entertaining take on Taskmaster; a high-profile relaunch of Moon Knight; and Death of Doctor Strange, which led Clea to become the new Sorcerer Supreme in Strange.

Artist Pasqual Ferry became one of the most vital creators of Marvel’s Ultimate line. In writer Orson Scott Card’s Ultimate Iron Man II, Ferry brought out the bleeding-edge dynamism of Iron Man’s armor. He was also writer Mike Carey’s art partner on Ultimate Fantastic Four. His other work includes Ultimate X-Men/Ultimate Fantastic Four and Ultimate Fantastic Four/Ultimate X-Men. Ferry helped writer Chip Zdarsky answer the question “What if Spider-Man had kept his symbiotic black costume?” in Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow.
