LEGENDARY CBS RADIO HOST PENS MEMOIR FOR CHARITY Book proceeds to benefit American Cancer Society PHOENIX, AZ To express his undying gratitude to the American Cancer Society for its role in his successful battle against cancer, Dave Pratt, renowned CBS radio host of Dave Pratt in the Morning on KMLE Country 108 in Phoenix, will donate to the organization proceeds from the sales of his soon-to-be released memoir, Dave Pratt, Behind the Mic: 30 Years in Radio. Although only 46, Pratt has been honored with more than 100 national and local awards, topped ratings in three different formats, helped raise millions of dollars for charity and become one of the most successful personalities in the nation, earning him legendary status in the radio industry. For over 30 decades, The Morning Mayor has lived his dream. But just as compelling as his rise to fame and fortune was Pratts triumphant battle with prostate cancer, which he shares with readers in Dave Pratt, Behind the Mic. Occasionally tear-jerking, sometimes funny, but always sincere, Pratts book takes readers on a ride with the man who morphed from small-town boy to one of the most prolific names in radio history.Dave Pratt, Behind the Mic is a moving, personal account of how Pratt maintained his integrity in a high-life atmosphere, never sacrificing his personal character. He proves that an incredibly successful career and a deep love for family can find balance in one of entertainment's most turbulent industries. Pratt shares the ups and downs of 30 years in radio and how when it seemed like nothing could take him down, he was struck with cancer. Then, Pratt reveals how his family and the loyalty of his listeners became his driving force, helping him fight the biggest battle of his life and win! Like Jimmy Buffet, Dave Pratt does an impressive job of making the transition from rock and country star to book author. This is a story thats definitely worth reading. Robert Stieve, editor, Arizona Highways Proceeds from the sales of Pratts book, which is being nationally published by Arizonas Five Star Publications, will be donated to the American Cancer Society. In fact, Pratt is so intent on raising money for the cause that he vows not to give away any books, not even to his own mother! She insists on buying her own copy and is proud that our family is helping such a great cause. I have confidence that my listeners and readers will feel the same, says Pratt, who promises that not one copy of his book will be given away on or off of the air. If he personally gives one of his books to a friend or a loved one, he says he will personally buy it.For more information on Dave Pratt, Behind the Mic: 30 Years in Radio (hardcover, $30 retail, ISBN: 978-1-58985-109-2) visit www.FiveStarPublications.com, email info@FiveStarPublications.com, or call 480-940-8182.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Dave began his radio career at 16 years old on KELK in his hometown of Elko, Nevada. Dave loved growing up in a small ranch town where he lettered in baseball and basketball, and once rode a horse through a casino (it was a dare). It was 1978 when Dave performed his first air shift on KELK. This October, three decades will be celebrated with the release of his autobiography: Dave Pratt, Behind The Mic, 30 Years in Radio. The book will be released nationally from Five Star Publications. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Dave battled and triumphed over prostate cancer in 2005. After high school graduation he moved to The Valley to attend ASU. In 1981, Dave was hired by KUPD where he stayed for 2 decades and Dave Pratt in the Morning became America`s Longest Running Rock n' Roll Morning Show. In 2002, Pratt joined CBS Radio where today he hosts Dave Pratt in the Morning with Stacey Brooks on KMLE Country 108., which is now the Valley's longest running country morning show. Dave Pratt and his band have sold well over 100,000 albums and live home videos, and he has headlined to sold out shows in major venues throughout the state. He is also part owner of Alice Cooperstown in Downtown Phoenix and www.MyStreet.com. For three decades loyal Pratt listeners have raised millions of dollars for Arizona charities. In 1996, the Dave Pratt Dental Clinic for underprivileged kids was founded by The Boys and Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix. The clinic now serves over 6000 kids per year. Dave is thankful to his loyal listeners for an incredible ride, but he is most proud of his family including his wife of 19 years, Paula, and his 4 children.... David 14, Kyle 12, Sammy 9, and Madison 7. Dave and his family reside in Paradise Valley. Many years ago Dave promised his listeners that he would never leave Arizona. This is one Mayor who keeps a promise.
