The text block is in good condition, with no tears, dogears, or marks, but the pages have age-toned areas. No signature or bookplate of a prior owner. Not a library book or remainder. Broadside printed three-column newspaper style, folded accordion style. The text block is detached from one of the staples, but the other staple keeps it inside the wraps. The wraps are in good condition (some shelf rubbing of covers, slight foxing on back). 8 x 4 ½, 2 pages, 2 ounces XX This is the first separate printing of this piece. In another form it appeared in Jess Nuttall?s My Own Mag in England. News about gangster Dutch Schultz, airplane crashes, jailhouse suicides, burning buildings ? all presented in the Brion Gysin cut-up style adopted and perfected by Burroughs, who pursued it in longer works, The Soft Machine, Nova Express, The Ticket That Exploded, referred to as "The Nova Trilogy" or "The Cut-Up Trilogy", self-described by Burroughs as an attempt to create "a mythology for the space age".
