Inhaltsangabe: Ben Williams, a doctor from Brighton, uses a revolutionary new drug to treat his wife's HIV. When she dies of a heart attack due to this drug, he blames himself. Several months later he makes a discovery that sets him on a course to find out a secret that Marivant, the maker of the drug, is desperate to hide. As his investigations deepen, Helen Richardson, a ruthless private security agent, is employed by Marivant to keep him in check. As Helen closes in on Ben, he must choose between risking his own life or playing it safe and never finding out the truth behind his wife's death; a truth that could change the world. Deadly Medicine is a fast paced 'thriller with a brain' that will appeal to anyone who likes a book they can't put down, and who enjoys having their thinking challenged.
Über den Autor: I'm married to Kirsty, who is also a writer. We live in Brighton, where much of the action in Deadly Medicine takes place. It's a great city, and we wouldn't live anywhere else in the UK. I've spent many years working in HIV, which is one of the reasons why I chose this therapy area to set my novel in. I have never encountered such a highly motivated group of patients and doctors, and it has been a real privilege to work with this community. I've also worked in the lab designing HIV drugs as part of my Ph.D. in organic chemistry. It was during this time that I started to really think about the origins of life. I worked every day for three years with the key chemicals that determine the code for life (Nucleic acids in DNA) and the molecules that DNA codes for (amino acids in proteins). Other than writing I have several passions in my life, including windsurfing, photography and traveling, but probably my greatest passion is for the truth.
