Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Malachy McCourt was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1931, but grew up in Limerick, Ireland. He returned to the United States at the age of twenty where he says he "did a bit of dishwashing, long-shoring, military service, bartending, stage acting, and saloon owning." His greatest achievement of all is his fifty-one-year marriage to his wife, Diana, who has blessed him with five children and eight grandchildren.
