1899 FIRST EDITION HARDCOVER. Near Fine condition. Part of the Pomegranate Series published by Brentano's of Union Square, New York. Small book (4" x 6-1/4"; 149pp) bound in decorative green, gray, and red art nouveau stamped cloth boards with bright gilt lettering on the spine. Gilt top page edges, other page edges deckled. Cover is bright, crisp and clean with very little sign of wear. Former owners (members of one family) have neatly signed and dated the first free endpaper in 1900 and 1949.
