Spine, spine ends, edges, and spine bands have varying degrees of rubbing including the gilt design. Front board has two surface tears. Edges are rubbed and have small tears. Tips are rubbed. Spine ends are rubbed. Top edge is heavily dust stained. Top and lower edge of many pages have varying degrees of damp stains and rippling. Pages have light foxing. Red dye of the edges have fading. Text is unmarked. Volume Two: 820pp. Spine ends, raised bands, and spine edges are heavily rubbed. Portions of the gilt design are rubbed. Edges are rubbed and the foredge of the front board has small tear. Tips of the front board are heavily rubbed. Tips are bumped. Spine ends are rubbed. Top edge is heavily dust stained. Top and lower edge of many pages have varying degrees rippling. A few pages have damp stains along the foredge and lower edge. Pages have light foxing. Red dye of the edges have fading.
