Four volumes of the Dictionary of Architecture, comprising of volumes one to eight, with illustrations. Four volumes containing volumes one to eight of the dictionary. A comprehensive dictionary of architecture from Aachen, the German name for Aix-La-Chappelle to Ernest Friedrich Zwirner, who succeeded Ahlert as the architect at Cologne cathedral. Volume one contains seventy plates, volume two contains thirty-nine plates, volume three contains thirty-one plates, and volume four contains ten plates, some of which are in colour. Rebound in contemporary half calf binding. Externally, smart with bumping and rubbing to the extremities, particularly the head and tail of the spine which has resulted in minor loss. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Library bookplate to the front endpaper of some volumes. Very Good.
