An early, mixed imprint edition of Lord Byron's celebrated epic poem, Don Juan. A mixed edition with six volumes bound in one, containing early and first editions of Lord Byron's 'Don Juan'. Comprised of the following: Cantos I-II, an early edition, published by Thomas Davison in 1823. Cantos III-V, the first edition, published by Thomas Davison. With all issue points as stated by Randolph in 'Studies for a Byron Bibliography'. Cantos VI-VIII, the first edition, published by John Hunt, matching issue points. Half title to VII misbound between page 66-69. Single leaf containing verse 4-7 lacking.Cantos IX-XI, an early edition, published by John Hunt. Cantos XII- XIV, the first edition, published by John Hunt. Matching the issue points for the "Small Paper" edition, with the watermark. Cantos XV-XVI, the first edition, published by John Hunt. Matching the issue points for the "Small Paper" edition, with the watermark, although bound without final page "published by John and H. L. Hunt". Bound with the publisher's advertisements to Canto XIV, and without publisher's advertisements to Cantos VI, VII and VIII.'Don Juan' is Lord Byron's satirical epic poem, an important feat of Romantic poetry. Byron portrays Don Juan as a man easily seduced by women, rather than a womaniser. The character, but not the plot, is taken from the legendary Spanish libertine figure.Bound in full calf.With the occasional library stamp of Nottingham Public Library. Bound in full red calf. Externally, sound, with rubbing to the joints and extremities, causing a little loss in places. Cracking to the joints, heavier to the front. A little fading to spine and board extremities, with the odd mark to leather. Library bookplate to the front paste down and stamp to the rear. Front hinge is a touch tender, but holding firm.
