This is a particularly difficult winter for the Scottish dragons. Emily and Tom are missing their friends. A new game on the frozen loch with the otters is fun for a while, but soon they are trapped and in danger.Help is needed, and it comes most unexpectedly!A dangerous journey, a secret hide-out and the closest encounter yet with Humans make this the most adventurous of the Dragon Tales so far. This is the fifth of the Dragon Tales Chronicles.

Judy Hayman lives with her husband Peter on the edge of the Lammermuir Hills in East Lothian, where there is a wonderful view and plenty of wildlife, but no dragons, as far as she knows. At various times in her past life she has been an English teacher in a big comprehensive school; a playwright, director and occasionally actor with amateur theatre companies; a Parliamentary candidate for both Westminster and the Scottish Parliament; and a Mum. Sometimes all at once. Now preventing the Lammermuirs from taking over her garden and being a Gran takes up a lot of time, and fits well with writing these Dragon Tales.
