Evangelie printed 1665 at the the printing house of Michael Slyozka, which operated in Lvov 1638-1667. Over 50 Orthodox and Catholic editions of religious books were printed by this house, all in Church Slavonic and Latin. The Reneisance art style was reflected in the artistic decoration of books made by Slyozka. Folio, complete copy. 424 leaves. 25 illustrations (7 full page), numerous large enfangs. Wooden boards covered with later satin, contemporary metal straps depicting the Evangelists. Complete copy in an unusually fine condition, white and crisp paper, only a small number of leaves w. thumbing and spots, a few leaves repaired w. no loss of text. Sharp images throughout.
