Quarter bound in a deep dark, rich green leather around the spine, cream coloured paper sides. Gilt titles in three black blocked boxes positioned nicely on the spine. Comes with a tan coloured box, slipcase. The book is first class condition, it looks like the book has hardly been used or read. Tiny stain mark to rear outside paper board. Normal wear, marks and tear apply. 169 pages all intact, all pages, text and illustrations are in first class, clean, readable order. An Eye for an Eye was first published as a serial text in the Whitehall Review from August 1878 to February 1879. It was first published in book form in a two-volume edition by Chapman & Hall in January 1879. This edition is based on the text as it appeared in the serial version with minor emendations. Set in Monotype Bell by Speedspools, Edinburgh. Printed and Bound in Great Britain at The Bath Press. Another stunning book from The Folio Society that would grace any stylish library.
