Gary Gardner's The Earth Cries Out Profiling communities of faith that are models of sustainable living, this book offers tangible results where the alignment of spiritual values and sustainability practices are rejuvenating a community and the practice of faith. Addressing a dozen key issues ranging from energy and water consumption to land use and socially responsible investing, the author focuses equally on the "cry of the poor" and the "cry of the earth."
The Earth Cries Out presents some of the best practices of faith communities responding to the impending climate and sustainability emergency, and outlines the next steps for people of faith to commit to creation of a sustainable civilization, what Thomas Berry called "the Great Work of our time."
