Beschreibung
The Earthly Paradise is an epic poem by William Morris of Pre-Raphaelite fame. As well as being a highly regarded designer and artist, Morris regarded this poem as an important part of his legacy. Based on both Greek myth and medieval legends, it is divided by the months with one Greek and one Medieval portion to each month. These two volumes are part of a pretty edition dated 1870 with a signed binding by Bickers and Sons, London. In excellent condition, these are bound in navy leather with gilt lettering on the spine and a simple woodcut in the Morris style on the title and last page of each. Very Good Condition: 8vo, blue leather with ridged spine; gilt lettering in second and third bands with title and author. Woodcut illustration on title page and last. Volumes III and IV only.
