Egbert Turns Red Egbert Rougit: Children's Coloring Book English-French (Bilingual Edition)

When Manfred teases him, Egbert turns red. Angry and red. What can one do about it? Egbert has a plan and an adventurous idea...

❤️ Top 10 Aspects

"Egbert Turns Red" is a popular children's book (available for free as an eBook 🎁 on the author's blog) to proactively talk to children about the feeling of anger:

1. Emotional Perception 😠

Egbert doesn't just become "bad", he "turns red". This visualization helps children to concretely name the abstract, hot feeling of anger.

2. Identifying Triggers 🔍

Why does Egbert turn red? Because he is teased or feels treated unfairly. Use the book to ask: "What makes you as angry as Egbert?"

3. Physical Reactions 🌡️

"Turning red" visualizes physical signals like a racing heart and heat. Talk about how anger feels in the body. This way, children learn to recognize the signs earlier and regulate themselves in time.

4. Acceptance: Anger is Okay! ✅

The book does not judge Egbert. The most important insight: It is not bad to be angry. All feelings are allowed. However, teaching responsibility is important: Feeling feelings is okay, but no one may be hurt in the process.

5. Emotional Regulation 🫣

What do you do when you are red? The book opens the discussion for "anger-feeling tools". Does deep breathing, stomping, or an anger pillow help? Discuss strategies that help release energy without causing harm.

6. Social Consequences 😟

How do others react when Egbert is red? Are they afraid or do they laugh? This clearly shows that our feelings and outbursts have a direct effect on our environment.

7. The Subsiding of Feelings 🌬️

Egbert doesn't stay red forever. This realization is extremely reassuring: Even the strongest anger passes. It is only a temporary state.

8. Empathy and Understanding 🤗

How do Manfred, the dragon, or the other children feel? The book invites a change of perspective.

9. Communication Instead of Escalation 💬

Egbert often turns red before he can speak. Use the story to practice naming feelings ("I notice you are turning red like Egbert...") before the situation explodes.

10. Making Amends and Forgiveness 🙏

What happens "afterwards"? If something has happened, it is important to take responsibility for one's actions (not the feeling!) and to put things right again – e.g. for a shared "green dream".

The children's book "Egbert Turns Red" helps you treat anger as what it is: a strong, human emotion that we all must learn to deal with – the sooner, the better.

Have fun reading aloud and enjoying the exciting conversations that result from it!

A World Children’s Book for Every Country on the Planet

From Afar to Zulu: The picture book Am I small? (ISBN: 149230977X)
has been translated into over 100 languages since its publication.

The story by author Philipp Winterberg is available for every country
in the world in at least one national language. It is the world's first
children's book covering the entire globe.

In Am I small? young and old readers alike accompany the girl Tamia
on a journey full of wonders. Together they discover that size is relative
and that Tamia is just right the way she is. "Enchanting" judges the trade
journal Eselsohr; "wonderful for bilingual families, and kindergartens,"
says the Börsenblatt and the American book review magazine Kirkus
Reviews kindly compliments "for children who enjoy lingering over
pages full of magical creatures and whimsical details [...] told in simple
and engaging words and imaginative pictures."

More than 200 translators have already participated in the World Children's
Book. Sometimes the research took months, "I had to look for a Tibetan
translator for almost a year," says Winterberg. The book is now also
available in hundreds of language combinations, such as Spanish-Tagalog
or German-Tigrinya — a language spoken in Ethiopia and Eritrea, whose
script is reminiscent of children's drawings.

In the years and decades to come the World Children's Book project will
continue to grow. The aim is to gradually translate Am I small? into
over 500 languages.
