Elinor Glyn (1864-1943) was a British romance novelist and scriptwriter who held a wide sphere of influence in her lifetime, including on the careers of notable Hollywood actors, especially Clara Bow. It was Elinor Glyn who popularized the concept of the "It" factor as a quality that ".draws all others with a magnetic force". She was a pioneer of risque romantic fiction aimed at a female readership, which was scandalous at the time, and contributed articles for women in Cosmopolitan magazine. On the strength of her writing she secured work as scriptwriter for MGM and Paramount Pictures, and even enjoyed a brief career as one of Hollywood's earliest female directors. This collection of the writing of Elinor Glyn is a significant piece of women authors' history, women scriptwriter history, and the history of silent-film-era Hollywood. This is her instructional work for writers of short stories and photoplays (motion pictures). Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 00834
