Beschreibung
A very good copy of the George Routledge edition of Emma in recent half leather binding with marbled paper sides. Undated, but published between 1866 and 1878. To our knowledge this edition was issued with a black and white frontispiece. This copy has a hand coloured frontispiece which is therefore likely to have been coloured later. Whenever it was done, and whoever it was done by - they have made a very good job of it. The binding has gilt lined raised bands, title label and author details to spine. It is in fine clean condition. Newer endpapers and initial and final blanks have been added. A page marker is present which looks likely to be contemporary (it has left a light brown trace on the paper). Page edges are marbled. The contents are generally very clean with lightly toned paper.
