He was the first to use the term arboretum and was a prolific writer on this subject. In a rebacked cloth binding with the original boards and spine restored, with renewed endpapers. Externally, smart. Evidence of former loss to the spine and extremities. Bumping to the extremities, with a small amount of loss. Spine is faded. Light rubbing and marks to the boards and spine. A little discolouration to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound.
