This is the story of three people and their efforts to survive the rapidly approaching global calamity in different ways.

The first is a single man, a journalist, who buys a remote property and starts preparing for self-sufficiency, while documenting the collapse of Australian society.

The second is a pair of students who take a different path, escaping into the wilderness and avoiding as much human contact as possible, living off the land.

It is a story within a story of their loves, hopes, and the sacrifices they make attempting to escape the imminent threats of global warming and World War III.
