pp.[xii], 351 with two plates and some figs. in text. 8vo. Hardback. With later bookplate of Peter Forbes. Also with two-page handwritten letter from Mary Spottiswoode to William Longman (dated 18th. Feb. 1834) tipped in at front. Contents nr. fine. Original cloth-backed boards good to vg., protected in a removable, clear plastic cover. We believe the charming letter to be from Mary Spottiswoode (who married the Scottish printer, Andrew Spottiswoode) to her brother William Longman, the fourth generation owner of Longman s publishing. In it, she seeks his opinion about this copy of Entomologia Edinensis which she had sent to him with the letter. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 63873
