This is a "Prize Binding" bound specifically for the Edgehill school (possibly Nova Scotia). Dark blue calf with raised bands on spine to form 6 compartments. Cover has stamped bright gilt Edgehill device - all edges of text block are marbled along with endpapers. Spine has 6 compartments with gilt titling and designs. Title on red background. FFEP has the presentation plate pasted in - book was presented to "Rhoda B.M. Carson - taking the highest position at the school" - June 1929. This volume came from the library of George Snell, the "father of immunogenetics". Beautiful and interesting copy of this famous book by Elia (otherwise known as Charles Lamb).
