Artikelbeschreibung vom Verkäufer

This Spring 1986 issue of “Antæus” quarterly (one of the leading literary periodicals), contains a number of revealing critical essays on novelist - poet- essayist Ford Madox Ford as well as bibliographical material on the same. It is a trenchant collection, often surprising, and always fascinating - presenting , as it does, fresh approaches to an author too often overlooked. This collection of essays displays how clearly wrong those critics who dismissed Ford as baggage from the past. They failed to see the depth and insight of Ford’s works. This issue of “Antæus” goes far in correcting that sort critical view of Ford Madox Ford. There are some major critics joining in this paean to FMF. CONTENTS : - Introduction - by Sondra J. Stang - Ford’s Impressionism - by William H. Gass - Ford Madox Ford : Temperamental Impressionist - by J. A. Bryant , Jr. - A Life in Writing : Ford Madox Ford’s Dispersed Autobiographies - by Max Saunders - What Dowell Knew : a Reading of “The Good Soldier” - by Eugene Goodheart - Fitzroy Square - by Benjamin Taylor - “Parade’s End” : a Reading - by Sheilas Gordon - No More Virgil - by Theoharis C.
