Tall folio, title page, dedication leaf, preface leaf, list of plates, with 30 large etched architectural views by Ernest George with descriptive letterpress following, original pictorial cloth, gilt, neatly recased where original gutta-pertha had perished, preserving original endpapers, minor slight foxing to a few edges else in fine state internally, a very good clean sound copy, SECOND EDITION, a re-issue of the first of 1878, work of a notable Victorian architect and etcher. In his preface to the firts edition George states 'my bent leads me among the works of men, and an especial charm is foud in the labour of hands that have long been at rest.'
