Immediately apparent and adding to the character of this publication is the owner's signature and date inscribed onthe inside cover. It lists in extraordinary script her name, New Iberia, Louisiana, a place where Longfellow's Evangeline is adored, and the date December 25/10. The book begins with a wonderful biological sketch of the poet - a rare tribute. The book is 120 years old and should be cherished.
