Black blind stamped cloth boards with gold lettering on spine. Book is used with some wear to boards and pages. Back strip of spine has tears where the boards join it. Also, there are tears and chipping at top and bottom of backstrip. Spine is slightly cocked. Pages have minimal foxing. Previous owners' names and ink stamp on front endpapers. Tightly bound copy with clean interior having no markings, writing, underlining, or highlighting in margins or text block. William Nicholson (1591 ? 1672) was an English clergyman, a member of the Westminster Assembly and Bishop of Gloucester. He published: A plain Exposition of the Church Catechism, 1655 (re-issued in the Library of Anglo-Catholic Theology). Apology for the Discipline of the Ancient Church, 1659.
