He taught at the College de Beauvais of Paris from 1707 to 1712 and from 1715 to 1728: during this period, he was a deputy school principal, led by Charles Coffin, and was instructed to teach the catechism to large groups of pupils. Having resigned in 1728, he devoted the second part of his life writing, living initially in the district of the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève in Paris, before settling at Saint-Germain-en-Laye, where he died in 1763. He took part in the renewal of the liturgical books of the diocese of Paris, begun under the episcopate of Bishop of Ventimiglia: Missal (1738), Processional (1739), Compendium (1745). In the field of theology, including many works written as part of his teaching at the college of Beauvais, his main work is the Exhibition of Christian Doctrine, first published in 1744 and constantly revised and reprinted by its author. This book, inspired by Jansenist Abbe Mésenguy earned the fierce attack of the ecclesiastical hierarchy and was even condemned by Pope Clement XIII in 1761." Small volume.
