Small folio; three volumes complete, 1,273pp, dozens of black and white illustrations, 16 color illustrations and a double-page map. Binding consists of linen spines with leather strip title labels and buff paper-covered boards, top edges gilt. Spines are darkened with age and noticeably soiled and worn; title labels are chipped and worn and scarcely legible on spines, bindings are slightly loose but sound, boards are worn. Exterior is clearly in fair condition only. Contents show some toning to the gutters but remain in very good condition, text is clean and unmarked, and the illustrations, especially those color illustrations by de Bosschere, remain bright and vivid. Limited Edition; #1,300 of 1,300 sets printed.
