Dark green pictorial cloth covered boards with border, decoration and lettering in gilt to front cover, lettering in black to spine; minor wear at the corners for what is a very lovely copy of the book. Plain endpapers with light spotting. 116 pp. The book is a treasure trove of childhood delights. There is a picture alphabet of birds and beasts, there are popular nursery rhymes, instructional stories, entertaining stories, including Jack and the Giants, which is illustrated by Richard Doyle, there are parables and much, much more; hand colored illustrations throughout with scattered spotting to several of the pages.
