Six volumes in total, numbered 1-6 on late-19th / early-20th century English bindings by J. Kelly of 15 Gower Place, his narrow paper label at upper edges of versos of all front flyleaves. HELVETIENS FLORA enthaltend die phanerogamischen Gewächse Helvetiens. Zuerst bearbeitet von Joh. Rudolf Suter vermehrt herausgegeben von Joh. Hegetschweiler. 14x9.5cm. Two volumes numbered 1 & 2 on bindings and on title-pages, dated 1822; each with half-title, title-page in German, title-page in Latin, and single blank preliminary & final leaves. pp(2)/CXXII,408/(2) with lengthy introduction in German and text in Latin, and pp(2)/(4),504/(2) with text in Latin, index and errata. SAMMLUNG VON SCHWEIZER PFLANZEN nach der Natur und auf Stein gezeichnet von J. D. Labram. Text von Dr. Joh. Hegetschweiler. 17x10.5cm. Four volumes numbered 3, 4, 5 & 6 on bindings only; with 517 lithographed colour plates accompanied by 515 leaves of German text. First volume (numbered '3' on binding) with the only title-page (not dated) in German and almost-blank following leaf, all four volumes with single blank preliminary & final leaves. Pencilled reference numbers at lower outer corners of plates, corresponding pencilled numbers in margins of related sections of Vols. 1 & 2 (Helvetiens Flora). All six volumes in uniform half green leather, with marbled paper-covered boards and green endpapers. Spines with gilt decorations, and gilt-bordered maroon leather label bearing gilt title 'Flora Helvetica' and volume number; Vols. 1 & 2 with four raised bands, Vols. 3-6 with five. Spines lightly rubbed, slight loss at heads of Vols. 4 & 5. Green of spines of Vols. 3-6 moderately faded, gilt still perfectly clear. Spine label of Vol. 1 chipped at one corner, no loss to title or volume number; labels of Vols. 2 & 5 missing. Hinges lightly rubbed. Boards rubbed along lower edges, and lightly so along upper- & fore-edges; tips of outer corners variably rubbed and/or a little worn and/or a little curled. Edges of text-blocks of all volumes red-speckled; top edges a little dust-marked, minor blemishes at fore-edges of Vols. 1, 3 & 5. Bindings holding firmly and of very decent appearance, contents clean and tight. Overall condition VERY GOOD.
