A good, wide-margined copy. Untrimmed and partially unopened. A compilation of correspondence by figures of the Revolution such as Lafayette, Washington, Monroe, Putnam, Clinton, Meade, John Paul Jones, Franklin, and many others. Gaillard Hunt was head of the Manuscripts Division at the Library of Congress from 1909-17, and in that position edited and published the writings of many of the leading figures in American history. This compilation was published by the short-lived but important Historical Printing Club, a project spearheaded by Paul Leicester Ford to publish numerous significant works in American history that were otherwise lost, forgotten, or effectively unavailable.
