Über diesen Titel:

The Nation elects a very charismatic President, after a campaign resembling a religious revival, with audiences actually fainting at his flowery rhetoric and utopian promises. Once in office, he insidiously usurps the powers of the legislature, allowing him to unilaterally enact policies which threaten to destroy the economy. Unknown to the populace, his agenda had been patiently pre-planned decades ago, and is part of a foreign conspiracy bent on totally destroying America. A group of close knit retired U.S. military officers collectively discover the conspiracy, and pool their resources to try to expose the president's treason. A series of direct challenges against the President are met by vehement administration vendettas. As the advantage shifts back and forth, the President appears about to be exposed. He counters with a brilliant retaliatory scheme to imprison the ringleader and assure the second term he needs to finalize America's downfall. The remaining retirees, with support from sympathetic legislators and others, band together in an attempt to free their comrade, bring down the President before the upcoming election, and blunt the even more insidious international plot which now threatens the entire free world. The story takes many turns along the way and dares the reader to put the book down until its unanticipated conclusion!
