Striking cover illustration by Adrienne Collier. Lead stories include "Rape at New Paltz; Epidemic or Exaggeration?" and "Committee Investigates Problems in Financial Aid Office." Other articles include "Why doesn t the Black Studies Department have a Chairman?" "Solidarity with the Prison Movement," "Jamaica Youth Work to Conserve," "Puerto Ricans Situation in U.S. Worsens," and sections that include "Voices of Today" (poetry) and "What time is it in our History?" Two notable half-page advertisements: one for "The B.S.U. of Alfred State College presents The First Black Experience An Evening with Frederick Douglass Portrayed by Authur Burgharelt" (October 30)" and the other for the Black Solidarity Day Schedule (November 1). Uncommon: not in Danky, no copies in commerce, and two holdings for the newspaper in OCLC, although one, at Michigan, does not have this issue and the other, SUNY New Paltz, seems to only have this issue on microfilm.
