This VG book, published in 1894, has 116 numbered pages and numerous photographs; there are 64 listed illustrations. This is a very nostalgic look at growing up in a very rural setting. The book is 9" x 7", with all three edges of the pages gilded. It is square, very clean, with the gilt lettering on the front panel and on the spine undamaged. The exterior is free of corner bumps and edge dings; there is slight wear on the bottom edges and the lower corners. Both head and heel of the spine are lightly bumped without fabric fraying or other damage. The exterior is quite attractive (see photos). The interior is also in very good condition. End pages are a plain chocolate brown; an inked name is on the top of the FFEP; other than that, the book is free of writing and stray marks. There is a 1/2" circular burn stain affecting pages 92-99, in the middle of the pages; no page is burned through and all text is still easily readable; p.94 probably suffered the worst damage (see photo).
