2nd Printing, hardcover in red cloth-covered boards. Upper spine end is split. Spine tips still fairly sharp. Foxing on the page block. 209pp text is age toned at the preliminaries, with a cracked spine but all pages complete and holding tight. 7 illustrations including a Frontispiece. Price marked on front paste-down. No other markings, or soil inside. Professionally reproduced dj is unclipped with no price present, with light color loss at the tips. Full color art on jacket wraps around to the spine. The Farthingale Fete was organized for such a good cause, you would have expected everything to go swimmingly right from the start. But; no: the very opposite happened, till Terry said that there must be a hoodoo on it- a hoodoo on her, too, since all the things that went wrong seemed always to be her fault. But have you ever heard the phrase that the night is darkest just before the dawn? That was how it was now, except that the light came so quickly that there seemed to be no dawn at all just a black, black night of troubles one moment, and the full daytime of triumphant success the next.
