Chapter One
LoveJesus Christ was asked;
"What must "I" do to inherit Eternal Life?"
Jesus response was; "What is written in the Law and how do `you' read it'?" To which the man replied;
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your strength and with all your mind, and, Love others as yourself." And Jesus said; "You have answered correctly! Do this and you will live!" (Luke 10:25-28)
* * *
Did Jesus Christ really say that? Those words open the door for many people!
Jesus Christ IS the very definition of `Christianity'.
Jesus spoke those very words, therefore;
They Are True!
We can hardly enjoy calling ourselves a Christian, if we do not believe the very words that Jesus spoke.
Again, Jesus was asked;
"Teacher, which is the Greatest Commandment in the Law?"
To which Jesus responded;
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment, the second is like it; Love your neighbor as yourself.
ALL the Law and ALL the prophets Hang On These Two Commandments"! (Matt. 22:36-40)
* * *
So everything that is written in the Bible and every interpretation and teaching of what is written in the Bible, must hold up to these Two Commandments. This IS the Law! This IS God's Word!
God tells us; I will put My Laws in their mind and hearts. I will be their God and they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying; `Know the Lord'. For they will ALL know Me! From the least of them to the greatest!" (Hebrews 8:10 & 1l)
* * *
Jesus told this parable;
"A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up." "Listen then to what the parable of the sower means; When anyone hears the message about The Kingdom, and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what Was Sown in His Heart"! Matt. 13:3, 4, 18, 19
* * *
Do not allow someone to snatch your love away from you, that God has already taken the time to sow in your heart!
The apostle Paul tells us;
"For it is NOT those who hear the Law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who OBEY the Law who will be declared righteous. When the Gentiles, (today this would mean non-Christians) do not have the Law, but do by nature the things that are required by the Law they are a Law unto themselves. Even though they do not have the Law, since they show that the requirements of the Law Are Written On Their Hearts." (Romans 2:13-15a)
* * *
Jesus tells us "And then ALL the churches will know that I AM HE who searches minds and hearts! And I will repay each of you according to your deeds"! (Rev.2:23)
* * *
I personally like this `mind & heart' thing! Don't you?
"GOD IS LOVE. Whoever lives in Love, lives in God and God in Him." (1 John 3:16)
* * *
The apostle John says; "We know that we have come to know him if we Obey His Commands. The man who says, `I know him', but does not obey His Commands, is a liar and the truth is not in Him. But if anyone obeys His Word; God's Love is truly made complete in Him." (1 John 2:3-5)
* * *
Jesus tells us, "But I tell—You Who Hear Me"— Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you and pray for those who mistreat you. Then your reward will be great and you will be Sons of the Most High!" (Luke 6:27&28)
* * *
Jesus said to Peter when he exclaimed that he would gladly lay down his very own life for Christ;
"Will you really lay down your life for me? I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times." (John 13: 37&38)
* * *
The apostle John tells us; "This is how we know what love is ; Jesus Christ laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." (1 John 2:3-5)
* * *
Jesus tells us, "My Command Is `This'; Love each other as I have loved you. Greater Love has No One than `This': That he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends—"if"—you do what I command," (John 15:12-14)
* * *
Jesus asks us; "If you only love those who love you, what reward will you get?" (Matt. 5: 46a)
* * *
John tells us; "We love because He loved us first.
If anyone says, `I love God', yet hates his brother, He Is A Liar! For anyone who does not love his brother whom he can see, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And He gives us this Command; `Whoever loves God, must also love his brother." (1 John 4:19-21)
* * *
John also tells us; "No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in us and His Love is made complete." (1 John 4:12)
* * *
John says; "And this is Love; That we walk in His obedience to His Commands. As you have heard from the BEGINNING, His Command is that you walk in Love." (2 John 1:6)
* * *
And Jesus Christ says; "Whoever has my commands and obeys them, He Is The One Who Loves Me." (John 14:21a)
The apostle Paul explains;
"For he who loves his fellowman HAS fulfilled the Law. The commandments; Do not commit adultery—Do not murder— Do not steal—Do not covet— and whatever other commandments there may be, are summed up in this one rule;
"Love Your Neighbors As Yourself." Love does no harm to its neighbor.
Therefore; Love IS The Fulfillment Of The Law!" (Romans 13:8b, 9 & 10)
* * *
John tells us; "There is NO fear in Love. But perfect love drives out fear.
Fear has to do with punishment (like burning in hell)
The one who fears is not made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18)
* * *
Once again, Jesus Christ tells us all, when asked this question,
"Which of all the Commandments is the most important?" Jesus response was;
"The Most Important One Is; `Hear this O Israel, the Lord our God is ONE!
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
The second is this; `Love Your Neighbor As Yourself.'
There Is NO Greater Commandments than these." (Mark 12:29-31)
* * *
I would like to believe that ALL `professed' Christians across the board, at the very least, can `hear' Jesus Christ when he tells us over and over, that the all...
