The illustrations by Brian Hargreaves depict the distinctive colours and markings of European butterflies, making this an attractive work of natural history as well as a practical reference for butterfly identification. **Condition: Very Good book / Good dust jacket (provisional).** Photographed interior pages appear clean and well preserved, with mild age-related toning. Original illustrated dust jacket retains its attractive gold background and colour butterfly illustrations, with rubbing, surface marks and light creasing around the edges. Rear jacket panel has noticeable scuffing and a horizontal rubbed area towards the bottom. Cloth boards, spine, binding firmness and completeness of contents have not yet been fully inspected.
