Excerpt from The Fifth Army in March 1918
Since this book was published I have received the lament able news that Brigadier General Dawson, D. S. 0, who commanded the South Africans, died of enteric fever last October, while big game shooting in East Africa. There was not a nobler actor in the great drama of March, 1918.
