We specialise in science fiction, fantasy, horror and the supernatural. Almost all of our inventory is in fine or better condition, from paperbacks, hardcovers and limited & de-luxe editions to galleys, bound proofs and manuscripts. We have a large number of items signed by the author and/or the artist. Each of our ABE listings is accompanied by multiple digital photographs of the advertised item, usually by the full number of five pictures permitted by ABE. The photos depict the item's key features, such as boards or wrappers, spine, dust-jacket, copyright or signature page etc. All domestic shipments are made by either recorded or special delivery, depending on value. International consignments use the tracked and/or signed-for air-mail service, with additional insurance, if needed. This is compulsory and frequently incurs additional postage which is debited to the customer. Postage for hardcovers to destinations outside the UK can be higher than quoted if the book's weight so demands, though paperbacks tend to fare significantly better most of the time with postage being cheaper than states. For special international shipments of high value items we frequently use DHL. Our books are packed with great care, extensively padded and protected to reach their destinations unscathed. The preservation of fine or better condition is of the utmost importance to us, as, indeed, is providing correct information of a book's pedigree in our listing, always supported by five digital photos of each book's key aspects.

POSTAGE: Unregistered and uninsured shipments are made entirely at the buyer's risk. We, therefore, urge our customers to use a service of registered mail, with the option of additional insurance, depending on the shipment's value. In March 2014 the 'International Signed For' (registered mail) service - used in connection with overseas surface mail shipments - was withdrawn by the overseas postal authorities, meaning that surface mail shipments can no longer be registered or insured. To enjoy the security of registered/insured mail, the air mail AIRSURE service must be used at the appropriate additional cost. Although air mail is more expensive than surface mail, it is also a great deal safer and faster.
PLEASE NOTE THAT, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATION RECEIVED FROM ABEBOOKS WITH REFERENCE TO THE CHANGES IN THE COMPANY'S RETURN POLICY EFFECTIVE 23 JULY, 2015, ALL FUTURE SHIPMENTS FROM US TO DESTINATIONS OUTSIDE THE UK WILL BE SENT BY TRACKED AIR-MAIL AT THE APPROPRIATE EXTRA COST.
