Beschreibung
A beautifully illustrated informative work on French watercolours of the 19th century. A smart copy of this studio book, in the original publisher's cloth binding, with the original, brightly coloured dust wrapper. This is an informative and varied work, presenting French watercolour artists of the 19th century. This work was translated from the French L'Aquarelle française au XXIXe Siècle, by Frances Bap and David Joyce, which was published in Paris the previous year. This translation is the first thus. This beautifully presented work is comprised of information on a number of watercolour artists, paired with tipped-in copies of their work, alongside a description. This includes work by Theodore Rousseau, Eugene Delacroix, Vincent Van Gogh, Edouard Manet and many more. In the original publisher's cloth binding, with the original dust wrapper. Externally, lovely, with very light fading to the extremities and the occasional light handling mark. Dust wrapper is in excellent condition, with light sunning to the extremities and to the spine. One tear to the wrap at the head of the front board, with tape repair to the rear. Dust wrapper has been clipped to the inside front flap. The odd small mark to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Near Fine. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 876Q7
