First published in German in 1916, then enlarged in 1921, and this translation is based on the 1921 German edition. About 20 artists are covered. 293 black & white plates, 11 tipped-in color plates. Cracked hinge at front and back end pages, slightly toned at spine. Otherwise book is a nice undamaged and clean copy. Jacket, however, is toned along spine and flap folds, many small edge chips and tears, some secured on reverse with clear removable tape. Jacket corner is clipped. 425 pages, 7 1/2" x 10 3/4".
