Hardcover contemporary boards and plain cloth spine. In good condition, with superficial staining remnants and scuffing to boards. Hinges remain in good condition and text block remains bound well. Light markings, including former owner’s signature on top of title page. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce work. This piece documents the financial dispute over the repayment of a loan from the Society of Friends at Crosswicks, New Jersey, which had undergone a separation. The borrower, Thomas L. Shotwell, wishing to repay Stacy Decow of the Hicksite faction, with the case being contested by Joseph Hendrickson, the originator of the loan. The case was ultimately deduced in favor of Hendrickson’s faction, as they were the originators of the loan.…
