Denis Flanders understands broken things. Pipes leak, hinges seize and clocks stop. There is always a reason, and usually a tool to fix it. Then he finds a 1952 Ordnance Survey map showing a village north of Cardiff, Wales, that the modern maps say it doesn't exist. Determined to prove them wrong, he sets out through Fforest Fawr in search of Llan-y-Niwl. Beyond the trees, a poisonous fog closes around him. The village is still standing. The pub is open. The residents are waiting. And every clock has stopped at 11:56. With every road leading him back to the same place, Denis has four frozen minutes to discover what happened to Llan-y-Niwl on 6 December 1952-and repair the clock that has held the village captive ever since. But some things stop for a reason. The Frozen Pendulum is a supernatural horror novella perfect for readers who enjoy British folk horror, ghost villages, time loops, cursed objects, historical mysteries, atmospheric Welsh settings and ordinary heroes trapped in impossible places.
