Think Exorcist meets Alien. Profoundly evil powers with a global reach are gathering in the deepest recesses of an eerie castle in the Scottish Highlands. Gareth, a highly-intelligent young man facing the rest of his life confined to a wheelchair, arrives at the castle for a vacation with his troubled parents and their closest friends. Plunged into a terrifying ordeal, the extraordinary nature of the castle’s strange secrets are brutally thrust on all of them. Gareth’s sanity and the complex relationships surrounding him are challenged to breaking point in a supernatural game of cat and mouse as the world spirals into the greatest crisis it has ever faced.
Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Acclaimed author Simon Ludgate has worked in the media for two decades. First as a news journalist, then a tv director and now as an author and screenwriter. Simon’s first book The Accidental Wizard was an intensely personal account of his life journey starting with the traumatising death of his mother, through ten years of documentary-making in the post-apocalyptic world of every major tsunami and earthquake around the globe starting in 2004 with the Indonesian tsunami and culminating (for the time being) in Japan in 2011. Simon’s own spiritual awakening into who we are, rather than the more traditional route of finding Jesus, ran in parallel. Separating the real experience from prolonged post traumatic stress disorder provides the spine of the narrative of his book, The Accidental Wizard. With his second book, Gabriel’s Lyre, Simon has moved into thriller territory interwoven with controversial, dramatic themes he has been given access to in his professional life working as a documentary-maker. His prodigious appetite for information and travel has given Simon a unique insight into global issues and the human condition. Following in his mother’s footsteps, Simon is a qualified Reiki Healer. Based in his hometown of London, England, Simon travels extensively. He has visited California on more than twenty occasions and has visited every State in the US at least once, some many more. He is married with two children and two dogs.
