This Near Fine first format book (as per Mattson & Davis: green cloth, black lettering on spine, dark green lettering outlined in black on front) lists to the the 1926 Tom Swift title and to #5 in this series. It is square and very clean and is free of edge dings and corner bumps; spine ends are lightly bumped without fabric damage. It has several pin-point sized dots of color loss on the front panel (see photo). Except for several small brownish stains on the back side of the FFEP, the interior is otherwise completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type; the paper is slightly toned and a bit stiff but not at all brittle; the hinges are quite sound and not damaged in any fashion. The VG+ jacket also lists to the fifth title in this series. The jacket is complete and intact, with mild toning, slight wear along the front fold, a 1" closed tear at the top of the front gutter and nothing missing that is big enough to call a chip.
